We will be at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation again, the same place as our Labor Day 1997 and 1998 and Fourth of July 1998 and 1999 campouts. The camp is on Bear Creek Road, near the town of Boulder Creek. A confirmation and directions to the camp will be sent to you when you register. Please register early, because the ranger needs to know the approximate number of people we are expecting before we arrive. The registration form is at the bottom of this page. Abe Feinberg will be our designated Health and Safety Officer for the weekend.
A limited number of cars at a time will be allowed to drive in, leave gear at their chosen campsite, and drive back again to the central parking lot so other cars can go up. There are handcarts at the camp that can be used to transport camping gear to and from the campsites. We will have SFFMC volunteers to register campers and direct parking, and signs that designate the parking area. Please follow the directions of the people directing the parking.
Please sign up for an hour of work when you arrive at camp. Available jobs are parking lot duty, registration table, archery supervision, and camp cleanup, especially at the end of camp.
We have hired lifeguards to supervise swimming pool activities from noon to 4 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. We can use the archery range as long as a responsible adult signs up to supervise the activities there.
There will be a community potluck at the outside dining area near the kitchen on Saturday night at 6:30 PM. A concert in the amphitheater will follow. Food for the potluck can be stored in the refrigerator in the camp kitchen until the dinner.
In addition to the refrigerator, we will be able to use the freezer in the kitchen. Come Saturday morning, we can use the entire kitchen, including the stove, ovens, and pots, pans, and serving dishes, but for Friday evening, please plan to use only the storage facilities. Bring your own plates and silverware to the potluck dinner; paper and plastic, respectively, are recommended. There is no dishwasher, except for you.
The normal camp curfew is 10:00 PM. Camp neighbors live directly across the creek from the camp, so any singing after 10:00 PM near the creek must be quiet songs. Plan to locate your singing circle as far from the creek as possible if you plan to sing later than that.
